WHAT IS FOOTGOLF?
Footgolf is two great sports, football and golf united. Footgolf is played on a golf course using a size 5 football. The object of the game is to get the ball into the hole using only your feet in the fewest number of shots possible. Footgolf is a very ‘addictive’ sport – it combines the best of football and golf, two of the most popular sports in the world. The beauty of the game lies in your being able to strategically combine power and precision every time you play footgolf. And, of course, it is open to everyone.
The FIFG is the international governing body for footgolf. It currently has 22 members around the world. The FIFG’s aim is to promote and develop the sport and ensure equal playability worldwide
The Irish Footgolf Association was established in 2014 to promote, nurture and develop the sport in Ireland. It is the Association’s goal to have over 30 affiliated Footgolf courses by the end of 2016 and become a National Governing Body by the end of 2017.
